AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Otto Addo Names Black Stars Squad for Angola and Niger Matches

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has finalized his squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and submitted it to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion, is in Group F with Angola, Niger, and Sudan. The team will begin its campaign with a home fixture against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5, followed by an away match against Niger on September 9.

For these crucial qualifiers, Addo has selected a squad entirely composed of foreign-based players, leaving out Ghana Premier League players. This choice reflects the coach’s strategy to field a seasoned team with a strong international presence.

Ghana approaches the qualifiers with confidence, having secured consecutive wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.

With high expectations and a drive to maintain their winning form, Addo and his squad are focused on securing a spot in the 2025 AFCON, set to be hosted in Morocco.
