Angola Announces Squad for AFCON 2025 Qualifiers Against Ghana and Sudan

Angola’s head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has unveiled his squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Ghana and Sudan. The Palancas Negras will kick off their qualification campaign against the Black Stars on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana. They will then host Sudan at the Estadio 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda shortly after.

During a press conference at the Angolan Football Federation headquarters on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Goncalves announced the squad, which includes Brazil-based defender Bastos Quissanga, making his return to the national team after a five-year absence. However, Orlando Pirates’ new signing Gilberto Deivi Miguel and M’Bala Nzola of RC Lens, on loan from Fiorentina, are notably absent from the list.
