Black Princesses Play Goalless Draw with Mexico in Pre-World Cup Friendly

The Black Princesses held Mexico’s U-20 women’s national team to a goalless draw in an international friendly as both teams prepared for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. Mexico created an early chance in the 9th minute, but Ghana’s Afi Amenyeku cleared the danger. Ghana’s Salamatu Abdullai had a close opportunity in the 28th minute, but her shot went over the bar. The second half saw improved performances from both sides, with Ghana’s captain Stella Nyamekye nearly breaking the deadlock with a powerful header, only to be denied by the Mexican goalkeeper. The friendly served as a crucial tune-up for both teams ahead of the World Cup, which kicks off on August 31. The Black Princesses will begin their campaign against Austria on September 2, followed by group matches against Japan and New Zealand.
