The Ghana U20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, will face Mexico in a friendly match in Bogotá as part of their preparations for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Ghana, which arrived in South America last week after spending over two months training in Cape Coast, will meet their Mexican counterparts at the Centro Deportivo Choquenza on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 20:30 GMT.
The friendly will serve as a key test for both teams ahead of the World Cup, which kicks off on August 31, 2024.
This marks the Black Princesses’ seventh consecutive appearance at the World Cup, and they aim to advance beyond the group stage for the first time. Ghana is drawn in Group E with Japan, Austria, and New Zealand, beginning their campaign against Austria on September 2.
Coach Yussif Basigi has finalized his squad, including American-based players Jenna Kayla Sapong and Alexandra Emefa Tay.
