Ghanaian forward Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere shone despite Zhejiang Professional’s narrow 3-2 loss to Tianjin Jinmen Tiger in the Chinese Super League on Sunday afternoon.
Owusu-Sekyere netted a valiant goal in the 65th minute, providing a spark of hope for his team at TEDA Football Stadium. However, despite his efforts, Zhejiang Professional couldn’t overturn the deficit.
The match saw Italy’s Andrea Compagno dominate the first half with a brace in the 27th and 39th minutes, putting Tianjin Jinmen Tiger firmly in control. Although Leonardo’s 61st-minute goal briefly reignited Zhejiang’s hopes, Albion Adem swiftly responded just two minutes later, securing the win for the hosts.
Owusu-Sekyere’s late strike, his ninth goal of the season, served as a consolation for Zhejiang Professional, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat. The 24-year-old Ghanaian now boasts an impressive tally of nine goals and two assists in the ongoing campaign, underscoring his importance to the team.
