Fatawu Issahaku Records First EPL Assist in Leicester City’s Return to Premier League

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku registered his first assist in the English Premier League during Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old, making his EPL debut, delivered a precise left-footed cross from the right flank, setting up Jamie Vardy for the equalizer in the 57th minute.

Leicester, playing their first Premier League match since their relegation in the 2022-2023 season, were initially dominated by Spurs, who took the lead through a Pedro Porro header in the 29th minute. However, the Foxes rallied in the second half, with Issahaku playing a key role in their improved performance.

The match was marred by a serious head injury to Spurs midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, who was stretchered off for further assessment. Issahaku joined Leicester on loan from Sporting Lisbon after their relegation, making a permanent move following an impressive campaign in the Championship, where he tallied seven goals and 13 assists.
