Galatasaray has confirmed that FC Spartak Moscow made an approach to sign Ghanaian left-back Derrick Kohn. The Russian club’s offer was turned down as it did not meet Kohn’s valuation of €2.5 million per season.
Turkish media reports that while Galatasaray received the bid, it was rejected. Sporting director Cenk Ergün confirmed the approach but noted that Kohn had no interest in considering the offer at this time. “There was a transfer request for Kohn, and we received an official offer. However, the player chose not to consider it. There are no new developments at the moment. We have one month left in the transfer window, and while there could be further offers or changes, there is no current process,” Ergün told Sporx.
Spartak Moscow is reportedly preparing a revised offer to secure Kohn’s services before the transfer window closes. However, they may need to meet Galatasaray’s €6 million valuation of the player to finalize the deal.
Derrick Kohn, whose contract with Galatasaray runs until June 2026, has drawn attention for his performances. Although he has represented Germany at the U19 level, he remains eligible to play for Ghana internationally due to his Ghanaian heritage.
