Hasaacas Ladies Football Club’s hopes of advancing to the next phase of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers are in jeopardy after a 3-0 loss to Nigeria’s Edo Queens. The defeat came in their second match of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers at the Stade de la Paix Bouake in Cote D’Ivoire.
The Sekondi-based side managed only a point from two games, following a goalless draw with Omnisport from Burkina Faso in their opening match. Meanwhile, Edo Queens, who dominated AS Garde from Niger 5-0 in their first game, secured their place at the top of Group B with six points after defeating Hasaacas.
Peace Emem Essien led the charge for Edo Queens, scoring twice in the 57th and 67th minutes, with Olajumoke Abideen sealing the victory in the 87th minute.
In the group’s other fixture, Omnisport cruised to a 6-1 victory over AS Garde, moving into second place with four points. Omnisport’s Adama Congo was named Best Player of the Match. Only the top two teams in the group will advance to the next round.
