Hearts of Oak Secure 3-1 Victory Over Semassi FC in Pre-Season Friendly

Hearts of Oak delivered an impressive performance in their pre-season preparations, defeating Togolese side Semassi FC 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The match, held in Togo, was a key part of both teams’ build-up for the 2024/25 football season.

The Phobians took control early on, with new signing Asamoah Boateng opening the scoring in the 40th minute. Just five minutes later, Martin Karikari added a second, giving Hearts of Oak a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime.

Semassi FC, struggling in the first half, found their rhythm after the break and were rewarded with a goal in added time to reduce the deficit. However, Hearts of Oak quickly responded, with Isaac Frimpong netting a late goal to secure a 3-1 victory.

Hearts of Oak will play another friendly in Togo before returning to Ghana to finalize their preparations for the upcoming season. After finishing 14th in the Ghana Premier League last season and narrowly avoiding relegation, the Phobians are determined to improve their performance in the 2024/25 campaign.
