Nicholas Opoku Impresses on Debut for Kasimpasa in Draw Against Hatayspor

Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku made a notable debut for Kasimpasa on Monday night, playing a key role in their 1-1 draw with Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Having joined the Turkish side on a free transfer earlier that day, Opoku was thrust straight into the starting lineup for the Week 2 clash of the 2024/25 season.

The 27-year-old featured as a right centre-back and delivered a strong performance, playing the full 90 minutes and contributing significantly to Kasimpasa’s defensive efforts.

Although Hatayspor initially took the lead with a goal from Joelson Fernandes, Kasimpasa equalized through Nuno Da Costa, ensuring they left with a point.

Opoku’s debut is a promising start for the Black Stars defender as he aims to solidify his role as a crucial player for Kasimpasa in the Turkish top flight.
