Norwich City Sporting Director Ben Knapper has expressed his excitement over the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson. The 21-year-old Black Stars player has joined the club on a four-year contract, with an option for an additional year, bringing his talents to Carrow Road.
Knapper is confident that Forson’s experience in European football, particularly with Red Bull Salzburg, will significantly bolster Norwich’s squad as they aim for a return to the Premier League.
“Forson is a talented and well-rounded player who will add quality and versatility to our squad,” Knapper stated on the club’s website. “He has come through an excellent player development system, bringing with him experience in the Champions League and as a senior international with Ghana.”
Knapper added, “We believe he’s a great fit for our team, and I’m confident we can help him develop further and achieve great things together.”
Forson has seen a rapid rise in his career since moving from Ghana to Europe in 2021. During his three years with Salzburg, he also had brief loan spells at FC Liefering and Rheindorf Altach.
