Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex and MTN FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC are set to face off on August 31 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa for the Champion of Champions title. The match, scheduled to kick off at 18:00 GMT, will serve as the curtain raiser for the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season, which begins on September 6.
The TNA Stadium, a newly constructed 10,000-seater facility and the home ground of Medeama SC, recently hosted its inaugural match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Medeama, with the latter securing a 2-1 victory.
Both Nsoatreman and Samartex will participate in this showdown after competing in the second leg of their respective CAF campaigns over the weekend. Samartex will take on Cameroon’s Victoria United on Sunday, August 25, at the Accra Sports Stadium, following a 1-0 victory in the first leg. Nsoatreman, having defeated Elect Sport of Chad 3-0 in the first leg, will play the second leg on August 24.
This marks the first time both Nsoatreman and Samartex are participating in African competitions.
