Patrick Chinyemba Defeats Theo Allotey in IBA Africa Flyweight Title Bout

Zambian boxer Patrick ‘Baddo’ Chinyemba secured a fourth-round victory over Ghana’s Theo Allotey in their scheduled eight-round bout for the IBA Africa flyweight title in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Saturday, August 17. In a separate match, Ghana’s Joseph “Jaguar” Commey defeated Ethiopia’s Sefan Abubeker.

A disappointed Allotey expressed gratitude to his fans for their support, stating, “I’ve had some time to reflect on my actions and inactions. I’m well and ready to go out again. I’ll return to the ring in September 2024 for my fourth pro fight, with details to be announced soon. Yesterday, I fell short. I’m disappointed, but as an athlete, sometimes you have to recognize your limits, retreat, and live to fight another day. I apologize for any inconvenience or pain caused to my team, fans, and supporters. My goal remains the same—to become a world champion.
