Ghana winger Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer delivered an outstanding performance, scoring both goals in Hamburger SV’s 2-1 win over FC Köln in their German Bundesliga 2 match on Friday at the RheinEnergieSTADION.
Konigsdorffer played the full 90 minutes, opening the scoring in the 5th minute with a right-footed strike from close range that found the bottom right corner. He doubled the lead in the 35th minute with another neat finish from the right side of the six-yard box.
Despite FC Köln’s dominance in possession and several chances created, Hamburger SV managed to preserve their lead. FC Köln pulled one back in the 78th minute with a header from Linton Maina, who converted a cross from Dejan Ljubicic, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome.
The victory boosts Hamburger SV’s head-to-head record against FC Köln to 9 wins, 7 losses, and 4 draws. Hamburger SV will next face Hertha BSC in their upcoming league fixture on August 10th.
