Black Stars striker Brandon Thomas-Asante has expressed his ambition to play in the English Premier League, stating that his move to Coventry City will help him achieve this goal. He shared these thoughts in an interview with Coventry City media following his debut in a 2-1 loss to German side Werder Bremen ahead of the 2024-2025 season opener against Stoke City on Saturday, August 10.
Thomas-Asante recently signed a four-year deal with Coventry from West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee, having also considered a move to Hull City. After his debut, where he hoped to score, the 25-year-old English-born Ghanaian affirmed that joining Coventry aligns with his Premier League aspirations.
“Goals and excitement. Moments. I love to be expressive and instinctive. I am playing freely which is something the manager will allow me to do. I am super excited. I have always had my eyes on the Premier League. I feel like coming here will put me in that position. That is the task for the team and the club…we are going to make it happen.”
Thomas-Asante made his debut for the Black Stars in June 2024, contributing to a 4-3 win over C.A.R. in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
