Sports journalist Veronica Commey has strongly criticized the Ghanaian government following the country’s disappointing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Ghana’s contingent of eight athletes failed to secure a single medal. Speaking on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ morning show, Commey expressed her frustration with the current state of sports in Ghana, arguing that the lack of investment and interest from national leaders and sports authorities has led to the decline of the country’s sporting achievements.
“We must collapse our Sports because clearly, we are not interested in developing it,” she remarked, underscoring the urgent need for a complete overhaul of the nation’s sports sector.
