Alidu Seidu Nets First Black Stars Goal as Ghana Draws with Niger in AFCON Qualifier

Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu scored his debut goal for the Black Stars in their 1-1 draw against Niger during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in Berkane, Morocco.

Seidu, now with Stade Rennes, fired home a powerful strike after receiving a pass from Mohammed Kudus in the 44th minute, putting Ghana ahead. However, Niger equalized in the 81st minute through Oumar Sako, who capitalized on a loose ball in the box.

Seidu, playing his second consecutive qualifier after Ghana’s loss to Angola, impressed with two interceptions and winning five of eight ground duels, completing the full 90 minutes.
