Yussif Adam, known as Bboy Nagi, was declared the champion of the 2024 Afro Break Ghana National Championship after defeating defending champion Bboy Blesso in a thrilling final at Usher Fort near Jamestown, Accra. The two-day event, organized by Afro Breaking Academy in collaboration with the Breaking Federation of Ghana and the French Embassy, drew a large crowd and was hailed as a success by founder Bboy Lyrixs.
In the semi-finals, Bboy Blesso, the 2023 champion, overcame Bboy Kofi Black, while Bboy Nagi defeated Bboy Eyez. Bgirl Iyani claimed victory over Bgirl Vikz in the female category, and in the All-Star Team contest, Hubes from Korle Gonno outperformed One Ghana from Kotobabi in a closely fought battle.
Nine-year-old Bboy Emma dazzled spectators with his skills but ultimately finished second to his 17-year-old competitor, while Bgirl Ivix triumphed in the new entrants category.
Bboy Lyrixs (Nana Tufour Okai) expressed pride in the eventās success and noted the Academy’s continuous efforts to discover and nurture new talent. He also reiterated the Breaking Federationās goal of representing Ghana at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, after narrowly missing out on the chance to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
