Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has expressed disappointment after a 1-1 draw with Niger in the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, leaving the Black Stars third in Group F with just one point from two matches.
In a post-match press conference, Addo criticized the team’s defensive lapses and missed scoring chances, especially in the final moments. “We controlled the game, but the way we defended in the last 10 minutes was really bad,” he admitted.
Looking ahead, Addo emphasized the importance of the upcoming clash with Sudan, describing it as a must-win to keep Ghana’s qualification hopes alive. “There’s no other option. We are under pressure, but we must improve,” he stated.
The Black Stars will now prepare for their crucial encounter against Sudan as they seek to secure their spot in the AFCON tournament.
