FIFA, in partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has begun training the second batch of female football administrators from the Regional Women’s Division One Leagues. A total of 80 administrators across the country are expected to benefit, with the first batch already having completed their session.

The second batch started on Thursday, September 12, at the GFA Technical Centre, Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The three-day course, running until September 14, 2024, focuses on enhancing leadership, strategic planning, communication, and marketing skills in women’s football.

“Capacity building for football administrators is one of FIFA’s Women’s Football Development programmes. The idea is to bring the game closer to communities,” said Thubaelihle Sibanda, the course instructor. “This program works with administrators worldwide, equipping them with the necessary skills to lead clubs toward professionalisation and sustainability.”

Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, Head of Women’s Football Development at the GFA, highlighted the importance of targeting Division One club administrators in this initiative, emphasizing that they play a vital role in the daily operations of the teams. The goal is to provide them with valuable knowledge that can be implemented in their respective clubs.
