Ghana Boxing Federation and United Coaches Association Forge Partnership to Boost Boxing Development

The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) board members held a productive meeting with the United Coaches Association of Ghana (UCAG) on September 27, 2024, in Accra, to discuss strategies for strengthening boxing in the country. This meeting marked a significant step toward fostering a collaborative relationship between the two organizations.

Led by GBF President Bernard Quartey, Vice President Dauda Fuseni, and Treasurer Mustapha Nettey, the board engaged in fruitful discussions with UCAG representatives, including UCAG President Charles Quartey and First Vice President Lawrence Lokko, along with other dignitaries.

The discussions focused on identifying areas of mutual interest and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives. Key topics included coaches’ training and certification programs, talent identification and development, competition organization and management, as well as funding and resource mobilization.

Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to promote boxing in Ghana and agreed to establish a joint committee to oversee the implementation of their discussions. This meeting marks a significant milestone in the development of boxing in Ghana, demonstrating the GBF’s dedication to engaging with stakeholders and fostering a united front for the sport’s growth.
