On Tuesday, the Bronx Gym in James Town was energized by the visit of Hon. Nii Kotey Ashie, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspiring MP for Odododiodoo, who came to motivate the gym’s boxers, with a special focus on undefeated knockout artist Daniel Gorsh, known as “The Emperor.” Gorsh is set to face experienced Beninese boxer Ghislain Vodounhessi for the WBO African Bantamweight title.
During his visit, Hon. Ashie urged Gorsh and the other boxers to remain disciplined, take their training seriously, and follow the guidance of their coaches and managers. He praised Coach Carl Lokko for his role in mentoring champions.
Bronx Gym has produced talents like John Laryea (Expensive Boxer), Stanley Nyantekyi (Ashanti Warrior), Sheriff Quaye (One Time), Jacob Tetteh Laryea (Chorkor Fire), Jacob Dickson (The Beast), John Zile, and several promising Nigerian fighters.
The international bout, titled “Golden Hands,” will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, September 14, organized by Shiatse and Legacy Promotions.
