Hope Of A Billion Foundation Partners with Swiss Embassy to Empower African Youth

The Hope Of A Billion Foundation (HOAB), in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy to Ghana, Togo, and Benin, held the HOAB Power Of Resilience Workshop to empower African youth. Organized by Ghana’s first skeleton Olympian, Akwasi Frimpong, the event took place at the Swiss Embassy on September 4, 2024, and welcomed 25 students from Baatsona TWMA JHS B for a day of inspiration and learning.

Earlier in the week, HOAB also engaged 1,000 students aged 6-16 at the Complex School and 50 junior high students from the Baatsona cluster schools, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to supporting underserved communities. Swiss Ambassador Simone Giger and Ghanaian-born embassy employees shared their stories, inspiring students to dream big.

The workshop featured motivational talks and activities aimed at building resilience and self-belief. A highlight was a young girl, Barbara Konadu, sharing her dream of becoming a journalist and receiving encouragement from Akosua Adjei, one of Ghana’s few female sports journalists. Through these efforts, HOAB has reached over 2,800 children in less than two years, fulfilling its mission to inspire and empower youth worldwide through sports, business, and education.
