Jonathan ‘Power’ Mbanugu Set to Face Kevin Johnson for UBO International Light Heavyweight Title in USA

Ghana’s Jonathan Mbanugu, known as ‘Jon Power,’ is scheduled to fight American Kevin Johnson for the UBO International Light Heavyweight title on December 10, 2024, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA, USA. The bout will be broadcast live on PPV at DMDb.com. Mbanugu, 31, holds a record of 12 wins and four losses in 16 fights.

Mr. Gordon Frimpong, Manager of Osibor Promotions, emphasized the significance of this opportunity for Mbanugu, especially after missing a world title chance in Albania. Frimpong urged Mbanugu to seize this moment on the big stage in America, representing himself, the Osibor brand, and Ghana with pride.

Frimpong also highlighted the promising careers of other boxers under his promotion, including Stanley Nyantekyi (Ashanti Warrior) and John Zile, who will also fight under the UBO banner. He expressed confidence in their potential to deliver strong performances, with Mbanugu currently holding a record of ten wins, one draw, and one loss in 12 fights.

Acknowledging the significant investment in boxing, Frimpong expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), the UBO, and the Ghana Sports and Boxing Supporters Unions for their support and belief in his boxers. He is optimistic about achieving great success with the blessings of the Asantehene.
