Lawrencia Okine will be honored with a 2024 WISA (Women In Sports Association) Award for her unwavering dedication and contributions to hockey and sports from 1997 to 2024. The awards ceremony, set for September 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium, will recognize Okine’s achievements, including representing Ghana in multiple African Cup for Club Championships (ACCC) and her resilience in overcoming injuries to continue competing. She also played for Ghana’s Female Masters team in world tournaments and is passionate about mentoring future hockey players, drawing inspiration from her mother, former national goalkeeper Cynthia Akwele Lamptey.
