NSA Director-General Dodzie Numekevor Sacked by President Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dismissed Dodzie Numekevor from his position as Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), effective immediately. Sources at Jubilee House suggest the decision was prompted by concerns over the poor condition of Ghana’s football pitches. Numekevor was appointed in February 2024, succeeding Professor Peter Twumasi. The dismissal follows a CAF ban on the use of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Ghana’s only approved venue for international matches, due to its failure to meet required standards. Consequently, Ghana’s next AFCON 2025 home game against Sudan may be held at a neutral venue.
