Former Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has expressed deep concern over the recent challenges within Ghana’s sports sector, calling it a national embarrassment. His remarks follow the dismissal of the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) ban on the use of Baba Yara Sports Stadium due to poor facilities. Ankrah emphasized that the Ghana Football Association, NSA, and the Ministry of Youth & Sports must take responsibility for the failure to maintain sports infrastructure, particularly in the wake of significant investments in the All Africa Games.
