Selorm ‘Spiderman’ Darko Defeats Edmund ‘Karma Ba’ Akator to Retain WKU African Pro Title

Atukpai-based kickboxer Selorm Darko, also known as “Spiderman,” secured his 17th career victory with a decisive knockout win over Edmund Akator, aka ‘Karma Ba,’ to successfully defend his WKU African Pro title. The bout, held last Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium’s Sports Hall, saw Selorm end the fight in 1 minute and 46 seconds of the third round.

The event, organized by the WKU in collaboration with the Ghana Kickboxing Association and supported by Itel, Decathlon, and Twellium, attracted a large crowd who enjoyed a night of kickboxing, boxing, and MMA action.

Steavano Tuekpe, Vice President of the Ghana Kickboxing Association, praised the fighters and expressed plans to host more events every three months, with the next promotion slated for December. Former association president Nii Adote Dzata I also commended the organization and encouraged fighters to continue training hard for future challenges.

Coach Doku, whose fighter emerged victorious, emphasized that kickboxing is an exciting and safe sport, urging the youth, especially girls, to take up training for self-defense.
