At just 12 years old, Jada Christiana Yankey made a remarkable impact at the 2024 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 juniors and seniors swimming championships. Competing as the youngest athlete, the UK-born swimmer led Ghana with 13 medals, winning in 13 of her 15 events. Jada, a student at Millfield School in the UK, secured gold in the 800m freestyle, three relay events, and multiple silver and bronze medals across various races. Alongside her sister Rihanna Yankey, who also contributed to Ghana’s success with several medals, Jada’s outstanding performance helped the host nation achieve a total of 56 medals.
“I’m thrilled to represent Ghana,” Jada said. “It’s about winning for my country, and I will continue to compete and improve.”
