Afro Break International Finals Set for October 27 at La Fase Gardens in Accra

The African finals of the Afro Break International Championship 2024 will take place on October 27, 2024, at La Fase Gardens in Labadi, Accra, opposite the Bethel Presby Church. Nana Tufour Okai, also known as B-boy Lyricx, the President of the Ghana Breaking Federation, announced that this year’s event will be the largest yet, with participation from 20 African nations, including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Senegal, and more.

The event promises exciting prizes, with the winner taking home the ultimate championship belt. Ghana will be represented by B-boy Nagi, who is eager to improve upon the country’s previous performance. Last year’s runner-up, B-boy Blesso of Ghana, encouraged the new champion to give their best effort on home soil.

Leading up to the finals, workshops, conferences, and other activities will take place starting October 25. B-boy Lyricx expressed gratitude to supporters, including the Ghana Olympic Committee, the National Sports Authority, and the French Embassy in Ghana. He also highlighted the growing popularity of breaking in Accra, especially among the youth.

Breaking was featured as a new sport at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
