Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has expressed his willingness to play any position for Fenerbahce, highlighting his commitment to the team’s success. Following Thursday’s 1-1 Europa League draw against Manchester United, where he occasionally shifted to right-back, Djiku emphasized that he is ready to take on any role assigned by manager Jose Mourinho.
“If my coach wants me to play left-back or right-back, I will gladly do it. Of course, my preferred position is stopper. But if my coach gives me another task or needs me in another position, I can play there as well,” Djiku shared in his post-match interview.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Djiku praised their resilience, stating, “We performed well in the first half, despite going down 1-0. We didn’t give up and managed to level at 1-1, creating chances that could have brought us victory.”
Under Mourinho’s guidance, Djiku is proving to be a versatile and valuable asset for Fenerbahce, with his adaptability on full display against Manchester United.
