Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has promoted four academy players of Nigerian descent to first-team training ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Zacariah Shuaib, Ethan Nwaneri, Nathaniel Butler-Oyedeji, and Brian Okonkwo participated in Monday’s training session at the Sobha Realty Training Centre in Shenley. All four players are eligible for Champions League selection, having been named on Arsenal’s B list. Nwaneri and Butler-Oyedeji have already appeared on the bench for previous Champions League matches this season.
