Arsenal are reportedly unlikely to activate Victor Osimhen’s £68 million release clause in the upcoming January transfer window. Despite showing interest over the summer, financial concerns tied to PSR regulations and a preference for a different striker profile have led the Gunners to look elsewhere.
Osimhen’s exit from Napoli seemed imminent, but his high release clause and failed negotiations with Chelsea stalled a move. The Nigerian forward eventually joined Galatasaray on loan, where he was impressed with two goals and four assists in four games. However, a break clause in his loan deal could make him available again in January.
Although Arsenal briefly considered Osimhen, they are not expected to pursue him due to both financial considerations and a shift in transfer strategy. Manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly eyeing other strikers, such as Benjamin Sesko, Jonathan David, and Omar Marmoush, ahead of a possible summer move.
