AS Roma Eyeing Super Eagles Defender Ola Aina for January Transfer Reinforcement

Italian football giants AS Roma are reportedly considering a move for Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina during the upcoming January transfer window. With a mounting injury crisis affecting their right flank, including absences of key players like Celik Zeki and the summer departures of Rasmus Kristensen and Rick Karsdorp, the Giallorossi are looking to bolster their squad.

According to reports from Forza Roma, head coach Ivan Juric, who previously worked with Aina during their time together at Torino, is keen on reuniting with the versatile Nigerian defender. Aina’s Serie A experience could be a significant factor in Roma’s decision, having already proven himself in Italy’s top flight.

However, prying Aina away from his current club, Nottingham Forest, might not be straightforward. The 28-year-old has been in outstanding form since renewing his contract with Forest in May, and the English side would be reluctant to let him go mid-season, given his importance to the team.

Despite Forest’s reluctance, Roma could benefit from the fact that Aina’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, giving the Italian club a chance to sign him on a potentially favorable deal.
