Asante Kotoko returned to Ghana following their participation in the Capital City Africa Cup in Washington, but the team is missing two Sudanese players, Esmat AbdalHamid Mohamed and Obdoelkarem Yoouef Yagoub. The players reportedly left the team hotel without permission on Friday, October 11, and have since been unaccounted for.
The club has raised concerns over their disappearance and has notified U.S. law enforcement authorities to help locate the players. In a statement released on Sunday, the club expressed their regret over the situation, assuring supporters they are working to ensure the safe return of the two players.
The trip to the U.S. faced challenges, including visa issues that resulted in the formation of the Ghana Week DC Select Side, which featured five Kotoko players and secured a 2-1 victory over D.C. United.
