Black Sharks Begin Training Camp in Keta Ahead of Beach Soccer AFCON 2024

Ghana’s national men’s beach soccer team, the Black Sharks, have commenced their training camp in Keta, Volta Region, in preparation for the 2024 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Hurghada, Egypt. The team, led by a technical squad and Beach Soccer Committee President Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, started training despite initial funding delays.

A 17-man squad is currently in camp, from which the final 12 players will be selected. The Black Sharks, who qualified by defeating Côte d’Ivoire’s Sand Elephants, are placed in Group A alongside Egypt, Morocco, and Tanzania. The tournament runs from October 19 to 26, with the top two teams earning spots in the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup.
