Bibiani GoldStars head coach Frimpong Manso has voiced concerns over the dedication of Black Stars players, stating that many show a lack of commitment toward representing Ghana’s senior national team.
Manso’s remarks come as the Black Stars struggle in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification campaign. With just two points from four games, the team sits third in Group F and is at risk of missing out on the upcoming tournament in Morocco.
In an interview with Takoradi-based West Gold Radio, Manso, a former Ghana international, expressed disappointment, suggesting that some players might even feign injuries to avoid games. “Most of the Black Stars players lack commitment to the national team,” he said. “This is a serious issue impacting the team’s performance.”
Ghana’s last two qualifiers will see them play Angola in Luanda, followed by a home game against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium, where they must aim for victories to keep their AFCON hopes alive.
