Bronx Boxing Club Sends Off John Abaja Laryea for His American Boxing Debut

Members of the Bronx Boxing Club in Accra, Ghana, bid farewell to John Abaja Laryea as he departs for the USA to make his American debut. Laryea, a native of the Bukom ghetto, reflected on how boxing transformed his life, crediting Coach Carl Lokko for guiding him off a troubled path. He expressed deep gratitude towards Lokko, Bronx CEO Sammy Anim Addo, and others who have supported him.

“I could have easily taken the wrong road, but boxing saved me. I’m now ready to give it my all and win this fight,” Laryea stated. His debut bout is scheduled for November 1 at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, where he will face Nicaraguan fighter Alex Mejia.

With optimism and faith, Bronx Boxing CEO Sammy Anim Addo added, “With God, everything is possible.”
