CAF Condemns Mistreatment of Super Eagles in Libya Ahead of 2025 AFCON Qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has raised concerns over the troubling treatment of Nigeria’s Super Eagles after their flight to Libya for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers was unexpectedly diverted. The team’s chartered flight was rerouted to Al Abraq Airport, two hours away from their intended destination, leading to frustration among players. CAF has condemned the incident, referring the matter to its Disciplinary Board for investigation and possible sanctions. Despite the controversy, the Super Eagles are preparing for their crucial match against Libya on October 15.
