Former Ghana midfielder Charles Asampong Taylor has advised David Oduro to prioritize his career at Barcelona and minimize his social media presence. Oduro recently signed a three-year contract with Barca Atletic, the club’s B team, but has yet to make his debut.
While he has trained with both the first team and youth squad, Oduro was recently seen enjoying a TikTok moment with ex-teammate Evans Botchway, where he shared insights about his training experiences at Barcelona.
Taylor, who had a successful career in the Ghana Premier League with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, emphasized that Oduro should not take his position lightly. “You shouldn’t have the mentality that you are playing for Barcelona B, that’s it. The Barcelona B team is even more difficult. It’s challenging because they rely on the B team for quality players for the first team,” he stated on Angel TV.
While fans are pleased with Oduro’s move to Barcelona, Taylor stressed the importance of focusing on training and performance over social media distractions. “They should stop making videos at this stage and remain focused because that is the most important thing,” he added.
Oduro, along with Dreams FC winger Aziz Issah, made the leap from the Ghana Premier League to Barcelona.
