Chiemela Ude Provisional Cap-Tied to England After U17 Debut, Eligible for Nigeria

Talented 16-year-old Arsenal goalkeeper Chiemela Ude has been provisionally cap-tied to England following her competitive debut for the Young Lionesses in a 7-0 victory over the Faroe Islands during the 2025 UEFA Women’s U17 Championship qualifiers on October 7. Eligible to represent Nigeria through her father, Ude would need a one-time change of association to play for the Super Falcons. Known for her penalty-saving abilities, she follows in the footsteps of other Nigerian-origin players Omotara Junaid and Jane Oboavwoduo. Ude has been with Arsenal since the 2021-2022 season and was named MVP at the JPL Warriors PGA 2024 Pre-Season Tournament.
