CK Akonnor Confident in Ghana’s 2025 AFCON Qualification Despite Rocky Start

Former Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor remains confident that Ghana will qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) despite their slow start. The team has only secured two points from three matches, following two draws against Niger and Sudan and a loss to Angola.

Currently third in Group F, Ghana needs to win all their remaining games to secure a spot in the tournament.

“I can’t imagine Ghana not qualifying for AFCON. We have the players to get this done,” Akonnor told Joy Sports, emphasizing the team’s ability to win the crucial upcoming matches.

Ghana faces Sudan in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, as they aim to turn their qualifying campaign around.
