Coach Augustine Eguavoen has set his sights on securing six points from Nigeria’s double-header against Libya in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers. The Super Eagles will host the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, followed by an away match at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Libya. Eguavoen emphasized the importance of winning both matches to ensure early qualification, despite the absence of key striker Victor Osimhen.
Twenty of the 23 invited players have already commenced training, with the remaining trio expected to join shortly. Nigeria currently leads Group D with four points, and a double victory could solidify their place at the tournament. Libya, meanwhile, hopes to turn their fortunes around after a challenging start to the qualifiers.
