Eguavoen Urges Victor Boniface to Shoot Sooner for Super Eagles Success

Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen believes that Victor Boniface will become a more prolific scorer for Nigeria if he learns to take shots more quickly. The Bayer Leverkusen striker started in Nigeria’s recent AFCON qualifier against Libya but failed to find the net despite having several opportunities. Eguavoen noted that Boniface often chooses to dribble instead of shooting, which allows defenders to close in on him. While Eguavoen praised Boniface’s talent and clinical finishing ability, he stressed the importance of capitalizing on half-chances. With strong competition from strikers like Taiwo Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho, Boniface needs to improve his goal-scoring to maintain his place in the team.
