Eguavoen’s Super Eagles Leap Above AFCON Champions in Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed three spots in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, moving from 39th to 36th under the guidance of interim coach Augustine Eguavoen. In Africa, they now rank fourth, surpassing both AFCON 2023 champions Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia. Nigeria trails only Morocco (13th globally), Senegal (20th), and Egypt (30th). Meanwhile, Benin, Rwanda, and Libya—Nigeria’s upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers—have shifted in the rankings, with Ghana and South Africa also facing struggles. Globally, Argentina retains the top spot, followed by France and Spain.
