Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu: “The Team is Doomed” After Black Stars’ Defeat to Sudan

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has voiced his concerns over the future of the Black Stars following their 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. After a goalless draw in the first leg, Ghana’s hopes of qualification were dealt a major blow as Sudan’s Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud and Mohammed Abdelrahman scored two quick goals in the second half. Ghana now sits third in Group F with only two points from four matches, leaving their qualification hopes hanging by a thread. Agyemang-Badu described the situation as dire, stating, “The team is doomed” in an interview with Onua FM.

To qualify, the Black Stars must win their final matches against Angola and Niger, while hoping for favorable results in Sudan’s remaining games.
