European Interest Grows for Bafana Stars Mokwana and Saleng

Rumors are swirling around Bafana stars Elias Mokwana and Monnapule Saleng, as European clubs have shown keen interest in both players following their strong performances.

Mokwana Attracts Attention from Belgium

Elias Mokwana, formerly a transfer target for both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, is now in the spotlight in Europe. Having made a big move to Esperance from Sekhukhune for R7 million in August, Mokwana’s stellar form for Bafana Bafana has caught the attention of scouts from Belgium, who were present during South Africa’s dominant win over Congo. At 25, Mokwana has quickly become a regular under Hugo Broos and has earned four caps for his country. A potential move to Europe could trigger a significant sell-on clause for his former club, Sekhukhune.

Saleng’s European Admirers

Meanwhile, Monnapule Saleng, who has been in fantastic form for Orlando Pirates with four goals in the 2024-2025 season, is also on the radar of European clubs. Belgian side Standard Liege is reportedly preparing a January bid for the winger, according to sources. This isn’t the first time European clubs have expressed interest in Saleng, and a move could soon materialize.

Kaizer Chiefs Discover Young Talent

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs are excited about their rising star Royce Malatji. The 16-year-old has impressed the technical team with his versatility, playing multiple positions, including right back, central defence, right-wing, and central midfield. With such talent at a young age, Chiefs believe he is destined for greatness.
