Former Ghanaian striker Prince Tagoe has voiced concerns over the Black Stars’ underwhelming performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, attributing their struggles to a lack of character among the players.
Despite having talented individuals, Ghana has only managed two points from three Group F matches, including a goalless draw against Sudan on October 10, 2024. Tagoe, speaking to Bryt FM, emphasized that the players need to bring the same intensity they show at club level when representing the national team. He noted that the team’s approach and character during Black Stars games have been their greatest weakness.
With Ghana’s AFCON qualification hopes in jeopardy, the pressure is mounting on coach Otto Addo and his squad ahead of their return leg against Sudan in Libya.
