FC Samartex’s head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has expressed his best wishes for defender Isaac Afful after his selection for the Black Stars squad in Ghana’s upcoming doubleheader against Sudan.
Ghana is set to face Sudan this month in Rounds 3 and 4 of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Isaac Afful is one of two players from the Ghana Premier League to receive a call-up from coach Otto Addo for these matches.
In a statement regarding Afful’s inclusion, Coach Amadu conveyed the club’s pride in the defender’s achievement. He expressed hope that this recognition would pave the way for Afful to secure a move to Europe.
“It means we have been doing something good. With training and his consistency, he has also been hardworking, and we wish him all the best. We are all praying for him and fully support him. We hope this leads to a contract in Europe because he deserves it,” Coach Amadu stated in an interview with FC Samartex’s media team.
Ghana will take on Sudan on Thursday, October 10, for the first encounter in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, with the second match scheduled for October 15.
