Flying Eagles’ WAFU B U20 Semifinal Postponed as Ndidi, Jibrin, and Others Show Support with Donations

The WAFU B U20 Championship semifinal between Nigeria’s Flying Eagles and Niger Republic has been rescheduled. Originally set for Saturday, the match will now kick off on Sunday, October 27, at 7 pm at the Stade Kegue in Lomé. The second semifinal, featuring Ghana’s Black Satellites against Côte d’Ivoire, will take place earlier that day at 3 pm at Stade Municipal.

A win for Nigeria would not only secure their spot in the final but also qualify them for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa. After topping Group B, the Flying Eagles, coached by Aliyu Zubairu, head into the semifinals following a strong 2-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire.

To support the team, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has contributed N5 million. Additional backing came from Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, with N2 million, and Crystal Sapphire Ltd. Chairman Frank Peters, who donated N1.5 million and pledged more if the Flying Eagles emerge victorious.
